1st airplane lands in Kerbala International Airport in 2018

Imam Hussein Holy Shrine announced that Kerbala International Airport will receive the first airplane in 2018.
The announcement was made in a press conference held on Saturday Feb 25, 2017 when the Iraqi National Investment Corporation handed over the license of building the airport to the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine.
The custodian of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine sheikh Abudul-Mehdi El-Kerbala’e said that all the procedures had been completed, and such a process had taken two years of constant work to be done.
A committee of expert engineers is going to be formed in order to assist in building a typical airport according to the international standards.
