Creating Basement For Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him) Sanctuary

The Architectural and Arts Committee of the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine began the creation of a basement below the Sanctuary that surrounds the Lattice-enclosed Tomb of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him). Muhammad Hassan Kadhom, Head of the Architectural Projects Division states that the number of pilgrims is increasing very year, especially during pilgrimage seasons where the number of pilgrims surpasses ten million. For this reason, creating a basement will decrease congestion and ease the rituals of pilgrimages.
