New basement being built opens in month of Ashura

The Engineering Department of the Imam Hussain Shrine has begun the second stage of building Esh-Shuheda’ Basement, which is covering its walls and floors with the best-quality marble known as Aunix; it is more shiny and solid.

Kereem Elembarey – Maintenance Department Director – said, “The works of the second stage have begun, and – as planned – the basement will open at the beginning of the month of Ashura.”

The basement is located inside the Imam Hussain Shrine, which is part of the expansion project of the shrine.
