Sophisticated surveillance system used to keep Kerbela safe

 

The Surveillance Center of Imam Hussein Shrine said that all the roads and paths leading into downtown are under surveillance.

 

The center mentioned that there are more than 800 surveillance cameras in use, in addition to 50 new and more modern ones; they are used to observe everything in the city, such as the traffic of pilgrims – during grand pilgrimages –, activities, and recognizing terrorists – if they come into the city; with this high-tech surveillance system – which is the best in the Middle East –, it is almost impossible to target pilgrims in the holy city of Kerbela.
