Karbala: Construction work continues on the housing project for the families of martyred PMUs

The Strategic Projects Department of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is continuing its work on the housing project to house the families of the martyred Popular Mobilization Units (PMUs).

The project is located on the main road linking the provinces of Najaf and Karbala, with an area of ​​106 thousand square meters.

"The completion rate of the project has reached 47%, and the specified period for its completion is three years. It is a humanitarian project that aims to give something back to the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for this land and its holy shrines,” said the project’s resident engineer, Alaa Abbas Fadel.  

The project’s total area is 106 thousand square meters and it includes 316 houses, each measuring an area of 120 square meters, in addition to a two-storey school with an area of 1663 square meters, a mosque with an area of 495 square meters, a kindergarten with an area of 648 square meters, a playground and 10 shops.
